Zeraki builds mobile-first digital learning and school data analytics platforms to help schools manage student performance and administrative tasks. Its data analytics product lets teachers upload grades via mobile, generates performance breakdowns by student, subject or stream, integrates bulk messaging, and gives parents visibility into performance and fee payments. Zeraki also operates a digital learning platform with quizzes and performance tracking that gained traction during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company says more than 5,000 schools and roughly 2 million students use its data analytics platform, and its distribution covers almost half of Kenya’s high schools. Cofounded in 2014 by Isaac Nyangolo and Erick Oude, Zeraki plans to add administrative tools such as timetabling and payment products including fee loans. It currently operates in Kenya, Uganda and Guinea and aims to enter 10 new markets over the next three years. Zeraki raised external capital to grow its product catalog and support regional expansion.
