Zeta Surgical builds an image-guided navigation system that combines a mixed-reality overlay with an optional robotic system using an off-the-shelf Doosan robotic arm and proprietary tools. The company targets procedures such as ventriculostomy and neuromodulation and aims to deliver precise surgical imaging guidance for procedures performed outside the operating room. Zeta has chosen standard screen-based navigation over AR/VR at launch, citing surgical-grade accuracy limits in current headsets. The startup has completed pre-clinical studies in Boston and Singapore and is targeting North American and Asian markets. The team plans to file for FDA approval early this year and hopes to launch a commercial version in late summer or early fall if approvals proceed as expected. Zeta came out of stealth with a $5.2M seed round to complete clinical trials, finish product development, secure regulatory clearance, and expand its engineering team.
