Overview

Zigbang operates a real-estate platform focused on price data for studio apartments and small rental houses and is expanding its product scope. It has grown through acquisitions, having taken over Hohaeng NoNo in April 2018, Woozoo in April 2019, and recently Sugarhill, bringing three startups under its umbrella. Sugarhill’s commercial office platform Nemo should enable Zigbang to extend into commercial property information for businesses and investors. Since January the firm has also been running a real-estate platform on webportal Daum and plans to roll out services based on real-estate big data for home buyers, investors and business owners. Financially, Zigbang newly raised 160 billion won ($135.6 million) and is considered one of the next unicorns valued at over $1 billion; earlier financings included 1 billion won in 2013 and a 38 billion won investment from Goldman Sachs in December 2015. Management has linked the fundraising and acquisitions to potential IPO plans and set a goal to grow combined monthly active users from five million to 12 million by 2022.
