Founded in September 2023, Zilo Energie is a pioneer of the solar-as-a-service model in France, purchasing, installing and maintaining photovoltaic systems while customers pay a monthly subscription tailored to each project. The company has seen strong demand since mid-year and plans to own 500 installations totaling 2.5 MW by 2025. Management targets roughly 1,500 installations by the end of 2026 and 10,000 by 2027, concentrating on the 0–36 kW segment that includes residential roofs, family businesses, workshops and small refrigerated warehouses. Each system costs about €10,000, so access to capital is central to growth; the firm expects to spend its latest €2 M raise by February and will need about €15 M for the 2026 goal and €100 M for 2027. To secure larger amounts, Zilo intends to shift from retail crowdfunding to an infrastructure-style funding structure that could attract specialized funds. The product roadmap now extends beyond panels to batteries, energy-management services and upsizing existing arrays, deepening customer relationships. Angel backers such as Arnaud Guyot (Vol-V) and Thierry Roussel (Direct Energie) continue to support the company.
