Zinc Software builds a biofeedback gaming platform paired with the Zen Sensor, a wireless ear-clip biosensor that transmits high-resolution heart waveform data to iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The sensor and platform use heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback, a clinically proven method to reduce blood pressure and stress-hormone levels. Zinc is led by CEO Darran Hughes and targets the health and wellness market with next-generation heart sensors. The company says the SDK program will let licensing partners integrate Zinc’s heart sensor with their own smart health apps. Zinc plans to use new capital to commercialize the Zen product in the US and expand its SDK program. The company is also the first European partner of PCH International’s Accelerator program.
