ZipDial received an undisclosed investment from Singapore-based Jungle Ventures and intends to use the capital to support its international expansion. Prior investors include Mumbai Angels, Blume Ventures, Times Internet and US-based 500Startups. ZipDial offers a missed-call based mobile engagement and verification service that lets users place a missed call to trigger messages, contact details, or other content; the company emphasizes analytics and IP to differentiate from simple missed-call features. Founded by Valerie Wagoner, ZipDial counts clients such as Hindustan Unilever, P&G, Disney and Puma and has launched campaigns in the Caribbean for brands like Pepsi and KFC. The team serves close to 400 customers and plans international expansion across other Asian markets (Indonesia, Philippines) and developing economies (Brazil, Mexico). The company raised a second round of seed funding from 500 Startups to accelerate international growth. Earlier in 2011 ZipDial secured angel funding from Mumbai Angels, Blume Ventures and some U.S.-based angel investors. The product roadmap and global network access via 500 Startups are cited as drivers for the new funding.
