Overview
Zipp Mobility is an Irish micromobility operator that runs e-scooter programmes in eight cities in Poland and five cities in the UK. Founded in 2019 by Charlie Gleeson, the startup plans to use its latest funding to expand into additional European countries, including its home market of Ireland. The company is already engaging regional authorities as it prepares for the expected legalisation of e-scooters on Irish roads. Zipp's latest funding round amounted to €1.3 million and arrived via a combination of angel investment, support from Enterprise Ireland and crowdfunding. Specifically, it received €500,000 from two angel investors (one named as Barry Maloney), €250,000 from Enterprise Ireland and €562,000 from a crowdfunding campaign. To date the firm has raised just over €2 million.
