ZipZap operates a global transaction network that enables consumers to buy, sell or use Bitcoin and other digital currencies using cash and other payment options. Founded in 2010 and led by CEO Alan Safahi, the company is based in San Francisco and is present in the UK, South America and Europe. In its latest round ZipZap raised $1.1M and has now raised $2.7M in total. The company intends to use the new funds to grow operations. The financing coincided with the hire of former Wells Fargo executive Jim Griffin as Senior Vice President of Currency and Foreign Exchange.
