Overview
ZolkC develops a platform that enables tourist and heritage sites to deliver interactive, multilingual and age-inclusive visitor experiences via handheld guides with multimedia, video and audio content. The system allows guests to customize their tours and has been deployed across multiple attractions. Its solution has delivered tours to over 600,000 visitors at sites including the Culloden Battlefield, the Saint Patrick Centre and the Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience. ZolkC also won a contract with Waterford City Council to provide a handheld multimedia interpretation of the Viking Triangle. Founded in 2007 as a spin-out from Waterford IT and led by CEO Paul Savage, the company is based in Waterford, Ireland. It recently closed a €500k investment intended to help expand into new markets, mainly in North America.
