Overview
ZOOD is a Swiss-headquartered digital lending platform that offers lending, marketplace, and logistics services through its ZOODPay, ZOODMall, and ZOODShip brands. The company operates in Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Lebanon and reports serving over 10 million users globally. In Uzbekistan specifically ZOOD has a local team of around 400 people and serves more than 6 million users, having established operations there in 2019. ZOOD says the recent funding will be used to amplify its financial solutions and grow its lending portfolio in Uzbekistan. The firm is pursuing additional capital to scale: it expects $30 million in debt funding before mid-2024 to expand lending. ZOOD is positioning its ecosystem to drive digital financial inclusion and e-commerce in emerging markets. ZoodPay operates a BNPL ecosystem that includes the ZoodMall marketplace and ZoodShip local and cross‑border logistics, enabling merchants to open storefronts in underpenetrated markets without additional set‑up costs. The company serves merchants across the Middle East, Central Asia, China, Europe, Russia and Turkey and targets fast‑growing markets including Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. ZoodPay and its parent OrientSwiss are headquartered in Switzerland (Canton of Vaud), with leadership including Group CEO Michael Khoi and board member Eric Blättler. The business reports more than 8 million users and maintains ten offices across the Middle East and Central Asia. ZoodPay has an established presence in Erbil and is expanding to Baghdad, recruiting more than 100 employees to support that growth. The company says it will use the new funding to accelerate its expansion in Iraq.
