Zootly is a technology platform for the moving and logistics industry that deploys vehicles and staff on short notice via a mobile app. Launched in 2015 by CEO George Colwell, the app lets residential and commercial customers track movers and trucks from their phones for instant updates. The company aggregates underutilized moving vehicles and moving teams through licensed, insured, experienced and customer service-oriented partners listed in the app (available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play). Businesses use Zootly's on-demand services to complete business moves or deliver products and equipment without owning trucks or employing delivery crews. Zootly currently operates within a 100-mile radius of Manhattan and plans to use the funds to expand to other cities in 2016. Financially, Zootly closed a $2.5M financing round; the backers were not disclosed.
