Overview

Zortrax develops and sells complete 3D printing systems and an accompanying ecosystem, including the M200 and the recently introduced M300. The company was founded by Rafal Tomasiak and Marcin Olchanowski out of an online store for DIY licensed 3D printers; the M200 concept began in 2011 and was finalized in 2013. Zortrax used a Kickstarter to fund early production (nearly $180,000 raised) and later issued bonds in January and March 2014 that led to a 7.2M PLN investment. The company also opened a showroom with distributor 3D Phoenix to broaden professional and student awareness. Financially, last year Zortrax reported 37.6 million PLN in sales revenue and 8 million PLN in net profit. The firm is preparing for a public-market step, with the article noting anticipation of an entrance to the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
