According to the report, Zscaler secures more than 15 million users, processes over 15 billion Internet requests and stops more than 100 million cyber-threats every day. The company closed a $25M continuation of its Series D round, bringing total Series D funding to $110M. It intends to use the funds to bolster global expansion and accelerate the growth of its technology and customer base. The round was led by TPG with participation from existing investors EMC and Lightspeed Ventures, and TPG partner Nehal Raj will join Zscaler's board. Zscaler intends to use the funds to accelerate investment in technology, grow the customer base and scale the business. Zscaler provides cloud-based security services including web security, email security, mobile device protection, and data loss prevention on a unified platform. It operates the Zscaler ThreatLabZ research labs, which monitor billions of daily web transactions from millions of users to identify emerging threats. The company serves about 2,500 clients and protects roughly 8 million users across 160 countries, with customers such as Lay‑Z‑Boy and Telefónica. Founded in 2007, Zscaler has historically been funded internally and is currently cash-flow positive. The company has positioned its architecture as an infrastructure-free security approach to better secure mobile, cloud, and social media applications. Zscaler plans to use new funding to accelerate product development—particularly in mobility—and to expand sales and marketing.
