Zumo is an Edinburgh cryptocurrency startup that offers a digital wallet and has recently added a sterling (GBP) exchange function via a partnership with Modulr. In August it ran a Seedrs crowdfunding campaign that raised £1,080,646 from 34 investors in roughly 48 hours, reaching 98% of a £1.1m target. The company previously secured £500,000 in funding from Ilya Fund and has attracted backing or support from figures including David Murray and Guy Berryman. Zumo said it will use the crowdfunding momentum as a springboard to pursue a Series A later in the year. The firm is encouraging new investors and existing users to take part and aims to capitalise on growth in UK crypto adoption, citing 1.1 million new cryptocurrency wallets created in the UK over the past year.
