Sunlight is a London-based SaaS that helps businesses run individualised professional development programs, letting employers allocate per-employee L&D budgets and approve spend on books, courses and events. The platform includes features such as learning playlists, an L&D concierge service and a chatbot to help order resources outside the marketplace. Sunlight also uses data to identify trends, suggest courses, and flag when employees are using learning tools outside their job scope so HR can intervene. The company charges $3 per user per month for companies with more than 30 employees and is free for smaller teams under 30. It has begun monetizing via affiliate sales, taking a percentage on purchases through its marketplace, and aims to scale affiliate revenue to reduce reliance on SaaS fees. Longer-term the founders position Sunlight as a tool to support reskilling and lifelong learning in response to automation-driven job change.
