Silverado operates memory care communities and provides a continuum of services including home care, palliative care and hospice. Founded in 1996 by Loren Shook, the company runs 54 locations across eight states: Arizona, California, Illinois, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. Silverado partners with academic institutions — UC San Diego, UCLA, USC, Northwestern University and Baylor College of Medicine — to advance clinical research in memory care. The company intends to use new capital to develop memory care communities in top U.S. metro areas and to support its hospice, palliative and at-home offerings. The $45M investment was provided by Artemis Real Estate Partners, which will also add a representative to Silverado’s board.
