Ryff uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to assess opportunities for product placement and digitally insert images of products into films, television and other types of content. Its technology can occupy empty spaces on sets — for example placing a soda can or cereal box on a counter — to create tailored brand integrations. The company says brands see at least a 300% improvement over traditional advertising using its service. Ryff is shifting its attention to the creator economy and is developing a new service called Spheera; CEO Roy Taylor described it as "the world's first platform for the creator economy aimed specifically for every type of entertainment." A spokesperson declined to disclose further details about Spheera but emphasized helping creators get paid. Investors including MaC Ventures have praised the platform’s semi-autonomous execution, which they say lets creators focus on making content while earning revenue. Ryff builds technology that enables dynamic, on-demand product placement in television and film by using computer vision, machine learning and rendering to identify objects in a scene and replace them with branded products. Its system can tailor in-video ads to viewer taste, distribution platform, geography, date and time, and demographic profiles — described in the article as like "AdWords for videos." The company envisions a marketplace where content is mapped for dozens or hundreds of placement opportunities that are ranked and priced for effectiveness, and where brands can bid and upload 3D assets for dynamic insertion. Ryff has disclosed a partnership with reality television producer Endemol Shine. To continue technology development and ramp up sales and marketing, the company raised $5 million in financing. Crunchbase reports Ryff had previously raised $3.6 million from investors including a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group and undisclosed backers.
