StartUp Health is a long-term accelerator focused on digital health startups, offering services such as analytics, intelligence, mentoring, and networking in exchange for equity. The organization now backs 103 digital health portfolio companies and employs 25 people. It began as a microfund operating on about $3 million in investment capital and has since expanded its operations. StartUp Health is raising $30M via a program of six similar strategic investment rounds to accelerate review and adoption of care-delivery innovations. The accelerator aims to build a group of strategic investors from consumer, retail, health care, tech and other industries to bring diverse ideas into its portfolio. As part of the fundraising, Aurora Health Care led the first tranche of roughly $5M and will receive early access to portfolio innovations to pilot and implement in its systems.
