Alginor is a marine biotech company focused on developing a biorefinery. The company is advancing the next step of its biorefinery expansion and has raised capital to fund that work. Borregaard has participated in the funding and pre-committed its share. Committed investments from Borregaard into Alginor will total approximately NOK 408 million after the transaction. Alginor plans a repair offering directed towards existing and potential new shareholders. A subsequent offering will be made towards Borregaard to ensure it retains a 35% fully diluted ownership stake.

Founded in 2021 and based in Vienna, Lignovations uses a patented technology to convert lignin into high-performance Colloidal Lignin Particles. The company positions these particles as multifunctional, bio-based alternatives to many synthetic chemicals across cosmetics, coatings, packaging, adhesives and other sectors. Lignovations says it is the first company to commercially produce Colloidal Lignin Particles. The startup plans to accelerate research and development, scale up production capabilities and commercialize a new generation of lignin-based materials. Management highlights the natural protective properties of lignin as a foundation for product performance. The recent financing round is intended to support those development and scaling efforts.
