Origincell, founded in 2017, manufactures and markets automatic cryogenic equipment for freezing and low‑temperature storage of biological, genomic, and diagnostic samples. The company raised CNY 410 million (USD 62 million) in a Series A financing round. Existing shareholders Canature, Deluxe Family, Gaosen Funds and an employee stock ownership platform continued to invest; the founder and chairman Qu Jianguo and Lishui Gaosen Fund also followed on. The proceeds will be used to build a self‑owned intelligent manufacturing base to meet scale‑up needs and to continue upgrading automatic cryogenic biological sample storage equipment. Origincell plans to expand global sales channel distribution, build out its service network, and pursue vertical M&A. It is positioned as an upstream supplier to biobanks amid a projected global biomedical cryogenic storage market of USD 3.65 billion in 2025 (China USD 207 million) and faces competitors including Haier‑Medical, AUCMA, and Meling.
