MitoSense is a Plymouth, MA–based research and development biotechnology company focused on advancing mitochondrial health and developing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases. Its core technology is Mitochondria Organelle Transplantation (MOT™️), which the company intends to advance using proceeds from the recent financing. The company says MOT has broad potential applications across Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, multiple sclerosis, and other neurodegenerative conditions. MitoSense raised $3.5M in a Seed funding round led by Caydan Capital Partners. The funds will be used to advance its MOT program and related R&D work. MitoSense collaborates with research and clinical organizations including the Elliott Mitochondrial Research Center, James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Greenwood Genetic Center, and Uppsala University’s Center for Advanced Medicinal Products.
