- EvenUp
Participated · Series B · Jun 2023
EvenUp offers a specialized artificial intelligence platform that streamlines the full lifecycle of personal injury cases, from initial intake through settlement. More than 2,000 law firms rely on the software to draft demand letters and other legal documents, automate complex workflows, and optimize case outcomes. By reducing repetitive tasks, the system helps attorneys improve efficiency and accuracy while freeing staff for higher-value work. The company plans to invest heavily in research and development to add new features and enhance its core technology stack. With fresh capital, EvenUp also intends to broaden its market reach and accelerate customer acquisition across the personal injury segment. Management views the rising demand for AI solutions in legal tech as a catalyst for continued growth. The recently raised Series A funding marks the first publicly disclosed institutional round and underscores investor conviction in the company’s leadership position.
- Steno
Participated · Series B · May 2023
Steno provides court reporting and litigation support services combined with litigation-focused technology, including its AI-powered transcript analysis tool Transcript Genius, a marketplace for court reporting professionals, and remote services via Steno Connect. The company says thousands of law firms use its services each month. Steno plans to release a next-generation Transcript Genius and further integrate data-informed AI with high-touch litigation support. The recent $49 million Series C will finance rapid geographic expansion and deeper penetration into the AmLaw 200. Savano Capital Partners led the round and will join Steno's board as it scales its hybrid service-and-software model from its base in Los Angeles.
- Proof Technology
Participated · Series A · Mar 2022
Proof Technology operates a litigation services marketplace that connects law firms and government agencies with a nationwide network of process servers and offers electronic court filing and remote notarization. Users upload legal documents to the platform, where the company’s proprietary AI analyzes filings to capture court location, parties, documents, and applicable rules to route deliveries with speed, transparency, and accuracy. The platform is accessible online and via integrations with legal tech platforms such as Clio, Litify, and MyCase, with plans to introduce additional integrations. Proof says more than 5,000 law firms and government agencies use the service to deliver or e-file close to 20,000 documents each month. The company’s process-server network covers the entire U.S., including U.S. territories. Management plans to use new capital to accelerate revenue growth, expand electronic filing capabilities, enhance case-management integrations, and further embrace AI to create additional efficiencies for users. Proof Technology provides the Proof™ platform that directly connects law firms, attorneys general, and pro se parties with process servers for physical delivery of legal documents. The platform uses machine learning to read court documents and automatically extract case caption information, geolocates the closest process server, integrates remote printing via FedEx, and generates real-time, court-specific affidavits. Affidavits combine case caption information with field-captured attempt data (geolocations and timestamps), photographs, and process-server descriptions to deliver jurisdiction-specific documentation. The service gives legal practitioners real-time updates and a transparent, accurate serving experience. Since launching its technology in 2018, Proof has grown to more than 3,500 law firms and governmental agencies using its platform across the United States. The company intends to use the new funding to scale the platform, acquire new users, and better serve existing customers.
