Instana plans to use the new funding to expand its product development team and to fulfill demand across global markets. To date the company has raised $26 million in total funding, including the new Series B. Instana provides a platform to monitor and manage complex big data and microservices architectures by visualizing the application landscape and surfacing actionable suggestions. The solution combines proprietary knowledge with a machine learning approach to predict future performance degradation or downtime and to identify service interdependencies. Its virtual DevOps assistant, Stan, offers exact root-cause analysis and remediation suggestions. The company is a spin-off from Codecentric, founded in April 2015, with engineering headquarters in Solingen, Germany and a total of 23 employees. Instana also lists San Mateo, California as a company location. Instana recently raised $6M in venture capital.
