Founded in 2024, Harmattan AI is a French defense technology company building embedded artificial-intelligence autonomy and mission-system software for fighter jets, drones, and electronic warfare platforms. Its products enable drone interception, electronic warfare, and ISR missions, and the firm has already secured validation from the French and British ministries of defense as well as a multi-million-dollar NATO government contract for AI-enabled small drones. Harmattan recently entered a strategic partnership with Dassault Aviation to integrate its AI capabilities into future Rafale fighters and unmanned systems while ensuring sovereign, scalable deployment. The company positions itself as the ‘European Anduril,’ aiming to empower the armed forces of liberal democracies and expand sales beyond Europe, including growing a U.S. presence and exhibiting at global defense shows. With tailwinds from the Ukraine conflict accelerating demand for smart defense solutions, Harmattan AI is now focusing on ramping up manufacturing and broadening its product suite into new domains. After its latest financing, the company’s valuation has reached $1.4 billion, and it has raised an aggregate $242 million to date.
