Mandela Digital is building the Mandela Dollar (MUSD), a proposed one-to-one U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin intended to expand access to dollar-denominated payments, remittances and financial services across Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America and other markets. The token remains under development and has not been launched on a blockchain, listed on an exchange, or offered in any public token sale. The company has published an official website and opened an Early Access Programme for financial institutions and intergovernmental organizations as it prepares its operational framework. Mandela Digital says it will need to establish reserve custody, auditing, compliance and redemption systems to support its one-to-one backing claim. Datavault AI will supply key technology components, including AI platforms, tokenization and encryption, as part of a partnership tied to a $5 million investment.
