Roniin is a Chicago-based startup studio that sources business ideas from busy entrepreneurs and spins them off into independent startups. The nine-month-old, 17-person team recruits CEOs, handles administrative setup and vendor/document selection, and helps launch the new companies. Roniin typically retains roughly 10–30% ownership in each spinout and grants ideators or chairs an additional roughly 5–15%; all parties dilute together when outside funding arrives. Several of its spinouts have already attracted seed capital, with Attendant raising $700,000 and Officeluv raising $800,000; a third company has also secured seed funding. The studio aims to match serial-entrepreneur ideas with experienced operators while preserving each company's independent culture by remaining mostly remote. Roniin recently raised capital to expand operations and continue building its pipeline of spinouts.
