Modria provides a cloud-based online dispute resolution platform combining legal-process knowledge with tools that flag and diagnose customer issues and drive negotiation, mediation and arbitration before complaints escalate. Its product is modular: the Diagnosis module collects and organizes relevant information and suggests solutions; the Negotiation module enables on-the-record discussion between parties; the Mediation module supplies a third party to clarify issues and suggest options; and the Arbitration module lets parties select a decision maker to examine facts and render a decision. Users can engage in discussions and submit supporting documents and videos throughout the process. The platform is used in government and commercial caseloads across the US, Canada and Europe. The company was co-founded in 2011 by COO Colin Rule and Ethan Katsh and is led by newly appointed CEO and president J. Scott Carr.
