Naqla operates an app-based marketplace that automates orders between shippers and drivers and provides instant pricing and matching for inland freight. The company runs two main apps and has integrated several technology strands to improve efficiency and customer experience for both shippers and truckers. Since its 2017 founding, Naqla has expanded into 35+ active zones, moved over 4.6 million tonnes of cargo, and serves more than 400 shippers and 10,500 drivers with a 165-person team. Its Carrier ecosystem bundles road assistance, finance, insurance, health care and maintenance for independently owned trucks. Naqla targets Egypt’s E£30 billion road freight market and aims to alleviate longstanding inefficiencies in port-to-inland transport. The company says it will use the proceeds to accelerate technology, digitization and planned vertical expansion into new segments in 2022. Naqla’s growth has been driven by rising demand in construction and consumer goods logistics following Covid-era supply constraints.
