CarePay International operates a mobile health payments platform that links private and public health payers, providers and end users to enable real‑time transactions and communication. Launched in 2016 and based in Amsterdam and Nairobi, the company is already active in Kenya and Nigeria and connects millions of people to its platform. The new capital will be used to scale the mobile health payments platform further in Nigeria and to expand into Tanzania. CarePay works with both public and private health payers to broaden access to quality healthcare for populations currently excluded from services. The company emphasizes social impact alongside financial returns and positions mobile technology as a way to reduce administrative costs and improve data for insurance schemes. Financially, CarePay has closed a €40 million Series A, making it one of the better‑funded startups operating in Africa.
