Devicare develops Lit-Control, a non-surgical solution for kidney stones that pairs a urine pH measuring device with an application to adjust nutraceutical dosing. The device measures patients' urinary pH and sends data to the app, enabling telemetric management and dose adjustments of nutraceuticals sold under the Lit-Control brand. The company already commercializes its nutraceuticals in Spain, has an agreement with Diem Labs to explore the U.S. market, and expects to start selling the pH meter around 2022. In 2020 Devicare reported €1 million in revenue and expected 50% growth in the following year. Proceeds from the new financing will be used to refine the Lit-Control software. Devicare is based at the Parc de Recerca de la UAB in Cerdanyola, was founded in 2012, and has raised €12 million in public and private capital since inception. Devicare is a Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona, Spain–based medical device company specializing in innovative home-care solutions for chronic patients. It is developing a patented sensor technology to measure biometrics in breath and body fluids, including blood, sweat, saliva and urine, for disease prevention and treatment. The company currently offers two product lines: Lit-Control for prevention and self-management of recurrent urinary diseases, and Tao-Control for self-management of patients taking anticoagulants. Devicare has signed a €2m participative loan from the Innova Global line by Avançsa, with an option to convert the investment into Series A stock in the mid-term. Proceeds will fund the strategic development and validation plan of new medical solutions under a Remote Patient Monitoring concept and the corresponding clinical studies and trials. The company intends to use these results to support expansion throughout European and North American markets. Devicare develops and remotely manages medical devices for the home care of chronic patients. It currently markets two Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) products: Lit-Control, which prevents and controls recurrent urological diseases via urinary pH monitoring, and Tao-Control, which helps control INR levels for patients on oral anticoagulants. These solutions are built under the RPM concept to enable patients to actively participate in monitoring their disease. The products are placed on the market through agreements with pharmaceutical companies. The company received a €133K participation loan to consolidate sales of its in-home self-management medical products. Devicare develops innovative medical devices targeting chronic home care patients, operating under a Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) model. Its product lines include Lit-Control® for prevention and self-management of recurring urinary diseases and Tao-Control® for self-management of patients on oral anticoagulants. The company is led by founder and CEO Rosendo Garganta and Xavier Peris, sales and marketing director. Devicare intends to use recent funding to consolidate the launch of clinical studies of its product lines in the Spanish market. In 2017 the company recorded €1.1m in revenue and employs a staff of 20 professionals. To date the company has raised a total of €4.5m.
