- Markup AI
Led · Series A · Sep 2025
Markup AI is a New York-based spin-off from NLP pioneer Acrolinx that has built an API-first platform of Content Guardian Agents for enterprises producing large volumes of AI-generated text. The system’s Scan-Score-Rewrite workflow assigns deterministic trust scores to content and can automatically correct terminology, tone, clarity, consistency, and grammar in real time. Five specialized agents roll up into a Brand Guardian Agent, giving companies automated guardrails across marketing, documentation, HR, and regulated communications. The developer-centric architecture integrates with tools such as Cursor, Figma, ChatGPT, GitHub Actions, and Zapier, and plugs into CI/CD pipelines for large-scale governance. Early access customers include Amazon, Adobe, ServiceNow, Gainsight, and more than 75 other AI-first companies, while a partnership with Contentful brings governance directly into digital content workflows. Recent leadership hires, including CEO Matt Blumberg and CTO Shawn Nussbaum, signal the company’s intent to scale product development and go-to-market. The firm has raised $27.5 million in Series A equity and debt to accelerate product expansion, developer integrations, and global sales.
