Wantster is a Canada-based site that lets users collect images of products from across the web and pin them to central wish lists for themselves or to suggest gifts to others. The product emphasizes visually-led curation and links to users' contacts and calendars to organize wish lists intelligently. Since launching seven months ago, users have posted 500,000 products to the site; the company has not disclosed raw user counts. Wantster launched an iPhone app last week and says mobile development may be a focus going forward. Founders Ky Joseph and Chris Edelman credit radio promotion for an 'extremely high conversion rate' of new member sign-ups. The company announced a $4 million funding round from Evanov Communications; Wantster has not specified detailed plans for the funds.
