MyLife Technologies develops ceramic Micro-Needle Array Patches for intradermal vaccine and drug delivery, aiming to enable simple, efficient and painless administration through the skin. The patches are made of inert ceramic and contain about a hundred microscopic needles that penetrate only the outer skin layer, avoiding nerves and blood vessels. The company plans to use recent funding to start production of vaccine patches for clinical studies and to support demonstration projects targeting COVID-19, HPV and cancer vaccine therapy. Founded in 2012 as a spin-off of the University of Twente MESA+ research institute and led by CEO Mike de Leeuw, MyLife is commercializing its patch technology. It foresees a Series A of an estimated US$17.5 million in early 2023 to construct a pilot plant and expand activities to the US and Asia. The company is based in Leiden, The Netherlands.
