Ensibuuko runs a proprietary platform built specifically for African credit unions (SACCOs) and savings groups, and provides infrastructure linking them to telecoms, insurance providers, and banks. The company has created digital products and services for SACCOs and savings groups since its 2014 inception and already serves over 200,000 rural Ugandans. Ensibuuko has integrations and alliances with three of Uganda’s leading banks and microfinance institutions, and with two of the country’s largest telecommunications firms. With the latest funding, the company plans to grow quickly in Uganda and expand into new markets across Sub‑Saharan Africa. Ensibuuko also intends to develop its newer digital loan and microinsurance products targeted at rural customers. The firm emphasizes last‑mile financial services and scaling rural banking networks to expand financial inclusion.
