Storyhunter operates an open platform and virtual foreign bureau that features and connects more than 20,000 freelance video producers and journalists across 180 countries. The company’s core product is a freelance management system (FMS) launched earlier the year, which includes map search, vetted specialists for drone and 360 video and mobile livestreaming, custom networks, group messaging, bulk payment tools, and tax filing services. Storyhunter counts major media clients including AJ+, Great Big Story, NBC, CNN International, Time, National Geographic, Discovery Digital and The Weather Channel, and serves brands such as Airbnb, Expedia, Zillow and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Led by CEO and co-founder Jaron Gilinsky, the company will use the new capital to expand its FMS. Financially, Storyhunter raised $1.3m in the reported round, bringing total funding to $4.2m to date.
