Wenea Mobile Energy develops, deploys and operates fast and ultrafast electric vehicle charging infrastructure, combining company-owned stations with management of third-party points. The company operates over 4,000 chargers across Spain and the U.K., of which more than 1,600 are part of its own network, and has over 270,000 registered users. Wenea supplies electricity to its stations with guarantees of renewable origin. Founded in 2018 within the Diggia group by José Manuel Zorrilla and César González, the company appointed Alberto Cantero as CEO in 2020. Wenea plans to expand its network in urban and highway locations using the newly raised capital and has previously secured €50 million from the European Investment Bank in 2020 to finance ultrafast charger deployment.
