Prong is a consumer electronics company focused on smartphone power solutions; its flagship PocketPlug iPhone case features integrated A/C charging plugs for on-the-go charging. The PocketPlug launched on Kickstarter and received coverage from the New York Times, Washington Post, CNET, Gizmodo and Engadget. Prong promotes a “no cords necessary” approach and says it is changing how users keep devices charged. The company plans to launch the PWR case in February 2015, which incorporates a detachable backup battery with built-in plugs. Financially, Prong closed a $1.6 million Series A financing led by Georgia Oak Partners. Management says the Georgia Oak partnership will allow continued focus on delivering innovative products.
