Hiber BV operates a satellite constellation and IoT network that connects and monitors machines and devices in hard-to-reach and remote locations. The company says its network can help reduce losses in food production and detect leakages from oil wells, and aims to make IoT connectivity affordable and available in developing regions. Hiber secured €26 million in EU and private investment to expand its IoT satellite network. The funding was led by the European Innovation Council Fund and co-invested with a Dutch government innovation credit and existing shareholders; other named investors include Finch Capital, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and Hartenlust Group. The article notes the EIC Fund’s broader Innovation Fund (€278 million) and frames the raise as validation for Hiber’s role in the emerging European “New Space” sector. The company also announced leadership changes: co-founder Laurens Groenendijk will step aside as managing director, Steven Kroonsberg joins as CFO and Roel Jansen joins as CCO.
