OPM recently won a contract from Boeing to supply 3D-printed OXFAB® structural production parts for the CST-100 Starliner. OPM Biomedical prints OsteoFab® cranial and facial implants and SpineFab® products and holds four FDA 510(k) clearances, including the first 510(k) for 3D-printed patient-specific polymeric implants. The company says it will expand capacity to meet growing demand for OXFAB® technology across aerospace and other industries. Oxford Performance Materials (OPM) develops and manufactures high-performance additive manufacturing products using its OXFAB® process, producing thermoplastic, carbon-fiber-reinforced 3D printed parts. OPM is the only company producing 3D-printed PEKK-based products in today’s marketplace, including patient-specific medical implants and strong, lightweight parts for space, defense and commercial aircraft. The company serves biomedical, aerospace, space and defense, and industrial markets. OPM is privately owned and based in South Windsor, Connecticut. The company intends to expand production capacity to meet rapidly growing market demand for its OXFAB® technology. OPM is pursuing joint technology collaboration and business development with strategic partners to accelerate commercial adoption of its materials and processes. Oxford Performance Materials (OPM) develops proprietary OXPEKK® products made from polyether ketone ketone (PEKK). OXPEKK has mechanical properties comparable to human bone, and OPM has historically sold its biomedical OXPEKK products as raw materials on a global basis. The company is expanding into in-house additive manufacturing of medical implants using a newly acquired EOSINT P 800 selective laser sintering machine. Its initial manufacturing focus will be custom cranial and maxillofacial implants designed directly from CT scans or MRIs.
