Docosan is a Vietnam-based health-tech startup that provides a free app to compare healthcare providers, book appointments, chat with primary care assistants, and manage health data. It uses internationally recognized protocols such as HIPAA and DICOM to ensure health records are portable across systems. Launched last year, the company says it has helped 50,000 patients in Vietnam book appointments with physicians across 35 specialties within less than a year. Docosan raised over US$1 million in a funding round led by AppWorks and plans to use the capital to add telehealth and pharmacy services to its platform. Other participants in the round included Huat Ventures and biotech entrepreneur David Ma. The app aims to improve access to quality healthcare and gives doctors proprietary booking software to better manage bookings compared with crowded waiting rooms.
