  • Ecoisme

    Led · Equity · Jul 2014

Ecoisme develops a consumer device and software platform to track energy usage of individual appliances, send mobile alerts for items left on, provide tips to reduce consumption, and integrate with smart products like NEST and WeMo. The system can be taught to recognize devices and includes a dashboard for household monitoring (for example, parents viewing TV or game console use). The company presents the product as an intelligent home energy‑monitoring system and emphasizes ease of use. Ecoisme was founded in 2013 and moved its headquarters to Poland last year after originating in Ukraine. It went through Kiev incubator Happy Farm and completed acceleration at Hubraum. Financially, Ecoisme has run an Indiegogo campaign that raised almost $60,000 in 24 days, received an €80,000 funding investment from Hubraum and Deutsche Telekom, secured a €10,000 prize at IDCEE, and taken an undisclosed angel investment from Bas Godska. EcoisMe offers a home energy-management service that aggregates appliances, assigns each device a unique ID, and shows real-time on/off times and consumption using a paired “smart meter” sold through authorized partners. The product layers social and gaming elements on top of device-level consumption data; sensors detect which devices are connected and transmit usage wirelessly for analysis and display. The company plans to monetize by selling analyzed and aggregated energy data. EcoisMe recently completed acceleration at Hubraum and a Class C program at Kiev incubator Happy Farm. It has signed investments that will fund a move of operations to Krakow, Poland and to pursue customers and partners in the Polish electricity and telco markets. Funding disbursement from the strategic investor is conditional on demonstrating initial progress, per CEO Ivan Pasichnyk.
