Cypris Therapeutics launched after a breakthrough in synthetic chemistry that enables synthesis and iteration of complex small-molecule moieties previously unattainable by researchers. Its proprietary technology produces molecules inspired by natural products and allows modification to improve therapeutic properties and reduce undesired side effects. The company is focused on developing therapies for therapeutically resistant diseases, with early emphasis on brain and pancreatic cancers. Cypris formed as the newest start-up in the portfolio of Ichor Life Sciences and will incubate at Ichor's Syracuse facilities, gaining access to state-of-the-art equipment and drug discovery and development expertise. Ichor is leading Cypris’s pre-seed funding round, which has already garnered over $500,000. Cypris is continuing to seek additional funding and partnerships to advance its drug discovery programs.
