    OpenLearning operates a MOOC-based learning platform that enables universities and vocational education partners to create and deliver online courses. The platform hosts courses from clients including UNSW, the University of Melbourne, the Australian Federal Government, Malaysia's 20 public universities and 34 public polytechnics, and has 1.3 million students on board. The company plans to use new funding to grow further across Australia and Malaysia and to expand more broadly across Southeast Asia. OpenLearning raised $8.5 million in a Series A led by Malaysian companies Prestariang Berhad and Paramount Corporation Berhad; the round included a handful of local investors. The Series A brings total capital raised since launch to $13.7 million. CEO Adam Brimo and chairman Clive Mayhew emphasized the company's impact-driven mission to improve access and quality in higher education. OpenLearning operates a MOOC platform that hosts and delivers online courses. The company reported 125,000 students on its platform and aims to grow that base to one million by the end of the year. It secured a deal with the Malaysian government to deliver 15% of the country’s public university courses using its platform. Open Learning is a Sydney-based company that offers a platform for creating and sharing massive open online courses (MOOCs). Its product is tailored toward users and institutions in Asia and the South Pacific. The platform enables MOOC creation and distribution across that region. In its current financial situation, Open Learning raised AU$50,000 (about $46.6K) in seed funding. The seed financing was disclosed as coming from SYD Ventures.
