JuiceBox Hero operates a Kayak-like marketplace that lets parents comparison-shop for childcare and book providers. The Austin-based startup is live in Central Texas and lists more than 800 licensed childcare providers with over two dozen searchable filters. Founder Laurie Felker Jones built the service to simplify finding childcare for working parents; she also runs Female Founders Texas. The company is bootstrapped and currently running an IFundWomen crowdfunding campaign that has raised almost $6,000 from 73 backers toward a $7,500 goal to finance operations and accelerator expenses. JuiceBox Hero graduated from the DivInc accelerator last summer and the founder has been accepted into the Women’s Startup Lab, which begins next week. Operations run out of Capital Factory as the company positions to scale amid a growing childcare market and demographic tailwinds cited by the founder.
