Among the many successful projects to come out of their studio was yunbi.com, which became a top-10 cryptocurrency exchange.     Skynet Labs rebranded from Nebulous to focus on its Skynet application hosting platform, which uses the token‑fueled Sia network to provide decentralized storage and hosting for apps. The company announced a $3 million funding round led by Paradigm and has raised over $9 million to date. Skynet launched in February 2020; the parent firm was launched in 2014 and is Boston-based with a staff of 11. CEO David Vorick said more than 100 applications and 10 web portals already use Skynet, including Uniswap, and emphasized that anyone can run their own portal for trustless access. The company positions Skynet as a censorship‑resistant alternative for developers and interactive websites. The rebrand and funding follow a roughly one‑year‑old settlement in which the startup paid $225,000 to the U.S. SEC over an unregistered token sale dating to 2014.

    Nebulous is the company behind Sia, a decentralized cloud storage platform that uses blockchain technology to create a data storage marketplace. Sia aims to address price, privacy, and reliability issues in the cloud industry by offering storage at roughly $1 per TB per month. The company has fostered a growing developer ecosystem and third-party services such as PixelDrain, Goobox, Filebase, Sia-Cloud, Decentralizer, and SiaCentral. Platform metrics include over 4 PB of data stored across 925,000 storage smart contracts, 2 PB of available network storage capacity, and more than 1 million Sia software downloads. Nebulous released Sia v1.4.1 adding seed-based file recovery and increased uploader scalability to 20 TB, and expects features later this year including video streaming, integrations with popular applications, and early CDN capabilities. The company recently raised capital to scale and accelerate development and adoption of Sia.

    ONO is a Chinese blockchain-based decentralized social network that aims to blend content creation with social engagement. Its core product leverages blockchain characteristics and a token mechanism to reward users who post high-quality content. The company currently runs an invite-only beta with 280,000 users and plans to roll out an international version of the beta later this month. ONO intends to launch its service later this year and is targeting post-90s/post-95s as its core audience. The startup raised $16 million in a Series A from investors including INBlockchain, China Growth Capital, Purple Cow Fund, Green Pine Capital Partners, Korea Investment Partners and Grand Shores. It positions itself to benefit from rising privacy concerns and regulatory shifts like GDPR but faces competition from other blockchain-based platforms and incumbents such as WeChat and Facebook.
