Just Meat Protein commercialises a CSIRO-developed, patent-pending hydrolysed poultry protein process that transforms low-value poultry cuts into powdered protein ingredients. The company targets markets including sports nutrition, functional foods and specialised nutrition applications such as aged care, meal replacement, and military and space nutrition. Inghams’ research cited in the article estimates the global sports nutrition market alone is worth US$27 billion. JMP holds an exclusive worldwide licence to the technology and has an exclusive first-right supply arrangement with Inghams in Australia. The seed proceeds will be used to scale up manufacturing, with a commercial launch targeted by the end of 2026, and JMP is engaged in active discussions with distributors and food brands domestically and internationally. Co-founders include CEO Ellie Whelan and CSO Dr Aarti Tobin, who emphasise sustainability drivers and product attributes such as high solubility, clarity in solution, and being allergen-free.
