    Led · Series E · Feb 2022

HealthEngine operates a consumer healthcare platform that matches Australians with healthcare providers through an online appointment booking system. The company hosts more than 3.9 million users. It was co-founded in 2006 by Dr Marcus Tan (CEO) and Adam Yap, who is now Head of Strategic Growth. HealthEngine says the new capital will support the platform’s future growth and efforts to improve healthcare outcomes and experiences for Australians. In partnership with its lead investor, the company has developed key impact targets tied to the UN Sustainable Development Goal of Good Health and Wellbeing. The recent financing marks the completion of HealthEngine’s latest Series E funding round and signals a move to align growth with measurable social impact. HealthEngine is a Perth, Australia-based online healthcare marketplace that enables patients to connect and book appointments directly with quality health practitioners via its website and smartphone app. Launched in 2006 by CEO and Medical Director Dr Marcus Tan, the platform is accessed by over a million Australians every month and results in millions of appointments a year with doctors, dentists, physios, and more. The company employs over 100 staff across its Perth headquarters and satellite offices in Melbourne and Sydney. It plans to use new funding to expand into other markets, pursue acquisitions, and bolster its team. The company recently raised AU$26.7m in Series C funding.
