Anakin builds a pricing tool that surfaces live competitor pricing, product and trends data and automates the management and pricing of millions of SKUs using inputs like inventory. The company was started by Mohit Prateek and Rashmi Bala last September and officially launched in March after participating in Y Combinator. Anakin began in the grocery vertical and has expanded into food delivery, ridesharing and travel, and it says its product can increase retailers' revenue by up to 12%. Before raising its seed round the company was already profitable, had customers even before building the product, and is growing revenue 24% month-over-month. Anakin is live in more than 10 countries and has a presence in San Francisco, Singapore and India. The startup plans to use the funding to hire more local staff, invest in product development, expand into additional categories and create a self-service tool.
