Lightneer is a Finnish learning game studio that developed Big Bang Legends in collaboration with science experts. The game employs a “Learn To Play” model that combines stealth-learning of physics and chemistry with in-depth learning content. It offers subscription content starting at $0.99 per month and 30-second mini-lectures from scientists such as Marcus du Sautoy and Rolf Landua. Lightneer launched the game in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Finland and plans a global unveiling in January 2018 with activities focused on the US and the UK. The company is led by CEO Lauri Järvilehto and its team includes veterans from Rovio, Digital Chocolate and Gameloft; the advisory board includes Marcus du Sautoy, Rolf Landua and Tom Kalinske. Lightneer closed a $5M seed funding round to support its product rollout and expansion. Lightneer is a learning game development studio founded in 2015 in Helsinki, Finland, that builds interactive education experiences combining entertainment and learning. Financially, Lightneer completed a €2.8m financing round that brought total investment to €3.5m.
