Ubitium is building a universal RISC-V processor architecture that unifies the functions of CPUs, GPUs and other specialised chips into a single workload-agnostic design. The company says this approach will enable AI capabilities in embedded devices without added hardware cost, simplifying development and manufacturing. Ubitium plans to offer a portfolio of chips unified by a single software stack, with commercial chips slated for release by 2026. The architecture is based on 15 years of research by CTO Martin Vorbach, who holds over 200 patents, and is intended to scale from small embedded devices to high-performance systems. The startup is based in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Cupertino, California, and has secured $3.7M in seed funding to build prototypes and development kits.
